Terms & Conditions

TheDirectory.uk is a members-only introduction service for adults aged 18 and over. By creating a profile you confirm the information you provide is accurate and that you are the person represented in your account.

Every member completes identity verification before their profile becomes visible to others or before they can send a message. Photos are reviewed by our team before they appear on a profile.

Founding membership is a one-time payment for lifetime access, subject to availability across four founding tiers. Once founding spots are gone, membership is a recurring weekly subscription which can be cancelled at any time from your account billing page; access continues until the end of the paid period.

Premium membership improves your placement in browse results and unlocks the ability to display a phone number on your profile. It does not guarantee introductions or outcomes.

Members must not harass, impersonate, or misrepresent themselves to others. We may suspend or remove any account that breaches these terms, is reported by another member, or is found to be fraudulent.

Privacy Policy

We collect the information you provide when creating a profile (name, date of birth, gender, location, bio, and photos), your identity verification status, and messages you send through the platform.

Identity verification is handled by Stripe Identity. We never see or store your raw identity documents — Stripe returns a verified/not verified status to us.

Photos are stored privately and are only ever served through short-lived signed links, never a public URL. Pending or rejected photos are never visible to other members.

We use your data to operate the service: matching you with relevant profiles, enabling messaging, processing payments via Stripe, and responding to safety reports. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account at any time. Blocked members and reported content are retained for safety and audit purposes even after an account is deleted.
